Accident, sickness and unemployment cover (ASU)
ASU aims to ensure that you can continue to make your mortgage repayment and other outgoings such as loan repayments, credit cards and utility bills if you are unable to work due to accident, illness or loss of employment.
The period over which this type of policy will pay out a benefit amount is limited to 12 or 24 months. If you want protection over a longer period then you should consider Permanent Health Insurance.
Any insurance which is based on an assessment of the health of the applicant is unlikely to cover previous or existing medical conditions. However, here at NJL Consultancy we offer expert advice to help ensure you have the right type and level of cover, and help you to understand the policy documentation as to what and what is not included.
