Writing policies into Trust
Few people realize the advantages of writing life policies into trust. We normally advise all clients to consider doing this for various reasons.
- It takes the insurance settlement out of their estate, and can therefore reduce or even avoid Inheritance Tax liability.
- It avoids having to wait for probate which can take months during which time the beneficiaries could be struggling financially.
- It avoids creditors claiming on their estate in the event of death.
- It ensures that their nominated beneficiaries receive the funds from the insurer.
